Advent begins with the lighting of the first Advent candle.
Sunday’s music: Members of SU’s Baroque Ensemble will perform a 10-minute prelude beginning at 9:50 a.m. Be sure to arrive in time to hear this music performed by Brianna Lombino, soprano; Sean Jordan, countertenor; and Anouk LeNormand, violoncello. The choir sings Pepper Choplin’s advent anthem Waiting, and J.S. Bach’s famous Sleepers Wake. The service concludes with Michel Corvette’s French Baroque Variations on the folk tune, Let Us Loudly Sing “Noel!”
